Best U.S. Navy Blog Nominations (Closed)

Nominations are closed.

Place your nomination for Best U.S. Navy Blog in the comments section below.

IMPORTANT: Only one nomination is necessary per blog and you are allowed to nominate your own blog. Repetitive nominations or comments for the same blog will not help in consideration as a finalist.

All nominees will be considered, so please do your best to read through the list of nominees to ensure you are not nominating the same blog.

Please make sure to leave the web address and title of the blog.

Your nomination must be relevant to this category, otherwise it will not be considered.

Tip: For suggestions on relevant blogs, refer to the U.S. Navy Blog Category on Milblogging.com.  While Milblogging.com does list military blogs in this category, it is not an exhaustive list.

HEY IDIOTS! WHAT PART OF "ONLY ONE NOMINATION PER BLOG" DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND???
ARE THE FOLKS AT USNI REALLY THAT THICK-HEADED, OR IS IT JUST THEIR READERS??

    • MaryR says:

      Hi Harv,

Thanks for YELLING. Anyhow, I am responsible the USNI blog, perhaps people are adjusting to the new rules. USNI Blog hopes for a fair competition. It's a different process this year so we would like to cordially compete and cordially give everyone the benefit of the doubt. No need for insults.

Ok, first off kids, follow the directions – "All nominees will be considered, so please do your best to read through the list of nominees to ensure you are not nominating the same blog"

The point of this part of the process is to get a good number of different nominees in. Voting comes later.

You can nominate more than one blog, but each blog nominated needs only one nomination.

Finally, my nomination is U.S. Fleet Forces Command Blog – http://www.usfleetforces.blogspot.com/

Surfing Surgeon Stuck in the Sand (http://surfingsurgeonstuckinthesand.blogspot.com/)
    and

    The Sand Docs (http://sanddocs.blogspot.com)

Insightful, often funny, always touching writing from and about a segment of the force that doesn't get much press. The baton-passing that occurred between the "The Sand Docs" and "Surfing Surgeon" adds an extra layer of meaning: the team in "S4" relieved the one in "The Sand Docs" at FOB Lagman, it really drives home the sense that life goes on on the FOBs and in Afghanistan, heedless of the arrival or departure of any single group. My most-prized blog-read by far!
