My name is Antonio Vega and I am a former SGT with the Chosen Few 173rd Airborne Brigade and I am not here to speak on someone who I dont know or have yet to witness their true dedication to soldiers. This blog is ran by a women who personally contacted myself and my platoon as we fought on an almost a daily bases, the movie Restrepo was based on such events that myself and my brothers throughout our Battalion experienced within the Kunar province. Based on her blogs and close ties developed over the years of her persuit in seeking out soldiers within the darkest, deadliest valley's to aid and support, such groups as Defenders of Freedom and others, we received morale packages, food and treats that literally aided in our movements.

  36. Chosen Few says:

(continued )Tools and supplies, Office supplies and equipment that sometimes were not able to reach our areas as supplies were either scarce or convoys attacked and equipment destroyed; as the list goes on. This woman has aided at least 2 generations of my companies men, and over 4 other units, making her a true supporter, even a vital asset to most Infantry line troops, that places her own time, effort and money into what she believes in the most. She has become a serrogate mother and very close friend to men who's time and friendship is not easily earned. I proudly nominate the blog that linked our battles, emotions, thoughts among other things, as well as my brothers across the US Army to the true support groups and civilians that were looking to help or become involved. Not only am I witness, but I was there and truely thank her, now so should you…
